Can a general explanation statement or preparer notes be added to an E-Filed California individual return?
CA is the only state I've come across that doesn't seem to offer such a statement of general explanation with the E-Filing. Anyone find a workaround?
Often I like to add a general footnote to clarify a return being filed, for example, right now I'm filing a late CA non-resident return for a prior year for the sole reason to establish a passive activity loss carryforward that year. So the return looks a bit goofy at first glance with zero CA source income and zero taxes owed.
