Question

Cali Fires extension

Client is LA resident, (lives a mile from the fires and not affected directly),  He is on 2024 extension and is  waiting for a K1 from his business. He was just notified that because his partner was directly involved in the fires there is a 30 day extension and he won't be getting his K1 until after 10/15

1.  Is my client automatically eligible for the 30 day extension?

2. Is there any form that has to be filed or something that has to be noted when filing 1040 after 10/15?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Im on the IRS website, I dont see anything anywhere about any additional 30 days after 10/15....maybe they're misunderstanding the 30 days from the 9/15 due date (thats the extra 30 days), but not from the 10/15 due date.

Thanks Lisa, the source of the confusion was a Cali CPA. It was poor communication
