An Error shows "Name A Valid ERO Signature Date must be entered to file electronically when using the practitioner PIN Signature method"

Hi everyone,

I could not file an extension for Form 1065 in Proseries software because of "Name A Valid ERO Signature Date must be entered to file electronically when using the practitioner PIN Signature method".

I checked all Firm info and details, there was not any problem with it. And all Corporation and S-Corporation files were accepted except for Partnership (Form 1065). Does anyone get the same trouble and how could I fix it?

Thank you so much for your help.

Per Pro Series support agent:

In the efile information worksheet e file section. If both original return and extension are both selected you get this error. If you Uncheck the original return and click efile now the federal extension shows as ready. Vice-versa to file the 1065.

I have not actually filed and extension to see if it gets accepted but the error goes away when you do this. State returns have always had similar issue

That was an issue last week too, guess it hasnt been fixed yet.  Thankfully weve got plenty of time for business entity extensions to be filed.

I did unclick "under EFILE" the Original Return, clicked EFILE EXT and was able to EFILE a 1065 extension.

Has anyone come across an answer to this error? I have it on every single 1065 and want to batch file extensions soon.

Hi there @CNP379 @M Barnett @jkalinich @jsnyder -

Can you confirm that you have the extension box marked for e-file?

From help article, How to file extensions in ProSeries
Go to Part VI - Electronic Filing  Information and check the Extension box for Federal Form 1065.

If the checkbox is marked and you continue to get this error, reply below so we can gather more information on this topic.

If you uncheck the 1065 box , you can e-file the 7004. However, if you're NOT filing a 7004, the error message is still there. So, it looks like we can't file a business return right now even if we wanted to.

Is Proseries Technical support working on this issue?
