Amended 2023 individual tax return

I am trying to amend an individual tax return for a child who accidently claimed myself on his return when he should be claimed on his parents.

There are no number changes.  I am not seeing a place on the amended 1040X that shows that I am amending it from claiming himself to his parents claiming him.

Am I missing something?  How do I tell the IRS that is what I am trying to do?

Doesn't it change the standard deduction?

Thanks for your reply...Lisa and thats what we were going to do just nervous that only using an explaination would not be enough for them to understand that we were amending something. Seems odd that there is no where to check a box changing it.

Good question...Bob.....Yes it does but he made less than the standard deduciton and only had earned income so his deduction wipes out all his income.

Thanks

But it's incorrect to state "There are no number changes."
