I assume somebody has noticed and will correct this simple error in the software. (I'm just playing with it for my own tax return.). As was the case last year, there is some error message in Sch D but impossible to know what it is.

It's October 29th, there are going to be a lot of errors in it.  At this stage it really is just a beta model and you can use it to play with, but don't rely on anything that is generated by it.

Lots of things still need to be updated before the filing season opens, I wouldn't expect it to be a "working" version until January.

It's not really an error; the newly-released software ALWAYS mostly uses the prior year information.  It is essentially still the 2024 program.

For the most part, they don't really start using the new year's numbers until at least December (and even then, many items are not updated to the new year's numbers until January).  Unless you are using the program for printing organizers, labels, etc., it is mostly useless to download the program before December.

If you only need labels, just print them from the 2024 program, dont transfer to 2025 for just labels.
