Amending 2021 and Part VII will not allow checking?

I do believe the IRS is still sending paper checks for amended returns. I amended a 2021 return electronically with paper check option and to my surprise the return was processed within approx 75 days and the check issued to the client.
Uncheck direct deposit and the return should go through.
