having an issue dependent has died in 2024, received a 1099r code 4 no check in ira box tried to correct name and social security number to reflect dependents info as is not the same as taxpayers. anyone out there know how to continue

Who "received a 1099r code 4 "?

Whose name and SSN are on it?

If decedent's, was the money received after their death?

And, you're saying the decedent was someone else's dependent?

You get lots of room to spell out the facts.

Good Morning,

The 1099r code 4 of the deceased person (who has been claimed as a dependent in tax year 2023) who passed away on 8-2024. The name on the 1099r is in the dependents name and his ssn. Taxpayer states she used the money for funeral.

How to report that?

Someone must know where this came from, who was the payee and why money was provided which resulted in this form being issued.
