Arizona Department of Revenue recently announced their MeF Production Environment is scheduled to be unavailable beginning Friday, October 9 at 12PM and ending Tuesday, October 13 at 7AM Pacific.

During this maintenance period, all processing will be paused. Any submissions sent during this time frame will be queued at the IRS. Submissions will be retrieved and processed once maintenance is completed.

The Arizona DOR acknowledges this schedule coincides directly with the days leading up to the October extension deadline, noting the decision to proceed during this time frame was not made lightly.

Key Details:

  • Downtime Begins - October 9, 2026 at 12PM Pacific
  • Downtime Ends - October 13, 2026 at 7AM Pacific
  • E-file Submissions -  Returns transmitted during this period will be safely queued at the IRS level
  • Acknowledgements - AZDOR  will begin retrieving queued submissions immediately once the system is back online on Tuesday, October 13. Anticipate a temporary delay in receiving state acknowledgements while the backlog is cleared.
  • Timely Filed Returns- Returns submitted prior to the October 15th deadline will be considered timely filed based on the electronic postmark date, regardless of when the state acknowledgement is received.
  • Rejected Returns - Arizona follows the Federal perfection period.
