Question

Why is ProConnect so DUMB! What it could do correctly in 2023 it screws up now!

In 2023 it could pass thru from a form 1041 different amounts for Fed income vs State Income - not any more, and Support help is useless.

We heard you the first time.

Passthroughs to passthroughs has never been a strength of Lacerte and by implication little sister ProConnect, I'm guessing. I'm surprised it worked in prior years.

Can you make the return come out right by using State Adjustments in the state input areas?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

I am using the "State if diff" column input, and it's not flowing thru to state return and K-1s.  Not sure what you mean by 'state input areas'.

I used Lacerte for a couple decades never had this problem.  Due to price I moved to ProConnect, which, like I said, worked in 2023.

Go to the State input areas, not federal K-1 input. See if there are entry fields for state adjustments/modifications.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Kallana -  Thanks for the message, but I'm not sure what you are looking at.  You are correct that the difference between the Fed income and the State income is $408.  Good start!

HOWEVER - the amounts reported on the 541 K-1 are EXACTLY the same as the amounts reported on 1041 K-1...not $408 different as they should be. (and no I'm not trying to get Col D = Col E...I'm just trying to get Col D to be CORRECT!)

Regarding using the overrides - this is a POOR fix!!  It may override the 541 k-1 to show correctly, but then 541 Page 1, and the Statements will still have the WRONG amount.  Why do such a poor job???

This worked correctly for the 2023 tax year, why can't you get a programmers attention to fix it?
