When I enter the RTN for Apple Federal Credit Union, I get an error message. can I just ignore the message?

The error message says that the RTN is invalid.

Be sure its a routing number off of an actual check, not a deposit slip or one used for wire transfers.

I am using the one from their website: "Routing Number: xxxxxxxxx".  That's why I am confused.
