When amending a 2024 1065 tax return, do I need to buy another 2024 return to do so?

I am unable to unlock the original return to make changes. I also do not see an amend button in the "view return" dropdown menu.

In ProConnect, if you can’t unlock the original 2024 1065 return or see an “Amend” option, you generally do not need to purchase a new return. Instead, you can create an amended return by using the software’s “Copy Return” or “Amend Return” workflow—sometimes found under the “Actions” or “File” menu rather than the dropdown. ProConnect locks filed returns to prevent changes, so unlocking may require unfiling or creating a duplicate for amendment purposes. [Content Remove] often recommends maintaining a separate copy for amendments to ensure all changes are tracked without affecting the original filed return.

The article shared is the correct process for amending a return inside ProConnect. There will never be an "Amend" button on the view return window or the input window. The Amended Return screen is found under Input Return --> Other forms --> Amended return or AAR (1065X) as shown in the attached screenshot.
