It happens, you have to paper file.

Thank you.  My client also has fraud when taxes were prepared for 2019 by someone else.  As a result they are also still waiting on the IRS to finish that investigation.  Is it best to file a paper return each year due to the 1099-R that is a survivor benefit?

The 1099-R should present no problem as it will be issued in the survivor's SSN.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
