Hi did anyone used form 3911 to trace refund?

The IRS websit  said the check will be mailed on 5/1/2020, but the client did not receive the Covid - 19 payment $1200.

I have no idea if my clients have had any issues receiving it. If when the come in for their 2020 tax filing appointment and tell me they never got it, it will be a credit on their 2020 tax return...that's the best I can do for them.

There is no Covid-19 refund. There are tax return refunds from filing taxes for 2019 or prior years, and there is an Economic Impact "stimulus" check that is an Advance against 2020 tax reporting.

For Stimulus, check with this site:

The EIP is not a refund, it is a payment, hence Economic Impact Payment. The 3911 is not appropriate. The info in Q33 should give the client the info they need, but if not browse the other Q&As https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payment-information-center#eligibility
