Question

The system is not recognizing federal taxes withheld from unemployment. Any ideas why?

It is making the client owe taxes when the individual actual paid taxes.

    YES. I logged off for a while and then logged by on and now it is calculating.

    If you had entered the FIT on the same screen you made the input for unemployment comp, it will flow correctly to the return.  Suggest that you check your input and diagnostics again.

      Even if tax was withheld from the unemployment, there may not have been enough tax withheld.

      The more I know the more I don’t know.
