One of my clients has not received her federal refund. The e-file status shows that it was accepted on 3/26/21. Can I do anything to help her?

She has tried contacting the IRS but gets no answer. When she goes to the website it tells her that her return is pending.

No. She just has to wait like millions of others.

She is not alone. IRS is supposed to issue refund within 21 days - JUST NOT HAPPENING THIS YEAR - There is really nothing anyone can do. IRS will pay interest.

You could always send threatening letters to the IRS. Tell them you are going to start leaving rotted lutefisk by their front door everyday until you get your refund. Of course the problem with that plan is, I'm not really sure if rotten lutefisk smells any worser than the unrotten variety. 👃

Lucky her. Many people are complaining that there is no 2020 status there at all.
