I have a loss on NJ-1040NR line 20 and the instructions are to enter ZERO (0) on column B, however, PTO does not do that automatically, how and where do I force a zero amount?

Ross, definitely a calculated field - so a PTO issue not doing the correct output of a Zero for a loss on line 20!

It does look like the program is treating the blank line as a 0, however. In other words: the line may not show a 0 but it is not impacting the calculation of the NJ 1040 NR.

Does that seem to be the case or am I off base on that?

Hello noemibookkeeper!

In this case, is there an issue with a calculation or are we just visually looking for a zero instead of a blank line in column B?

Thanks for asking Ross,

Since the amount is a loss it should translate to a zero amount on column B, at least that's how I interpret per NJ-1040NR instructions.

Ross, to answer your question with more clarity, it's not so much a calculation issue I suppose but PTO should be able to enter a zero amount on line 20 column B if there is a loss or at least allow me to manually enter it but don't see HOW? or better yet WHERE? on PTO?
