Question

New York is taxing all income that is on the federal return, including income earned when the tax payer was no a resident of New York. How do I change this?

A tax payer moved from New York to New Jersey in August. They earned money in New Jersey that is taxable in New Jersey. The New York return is taxing the total income that appears on the Federal Return, not just the New York amount. Is there a way to fix this?

I don't do ProConnect, but I'm guessing somewhere in the software there is someplace to allocate income between states.
