Question

My client lost his IP PIN from the IRS. The IRS has shut down IP PIN retrieval site and advises to use the prior year's AGI in that field. Return rejected. Advice?

Sounds like there are 3 options:

1  Tell the client to look again and a little harder for the PIN.

2  Sit on the return for awhile until the retrieval site reopens.

3  Paper file.
