Military Pension Iowa resident

What is the best way to input a military pension for an Iowa resident in Proconnect. The override for state is not working in the 1099R input using a zero. Does work if I use $1.

-1 is the entry that produces a zero in ProConnect. I have no opinion as to whether overriding the state taxable amount produces the appropriate IA tax return presentation - for the states I'm familiar with, there's a checkbox in the Other Information section of the Pensions, IRA Distributions screen that says something to the effect of "qualifies for military retirement exclusion."
