Is everyone doing direct payment to IRS instead of printing 1040Vs?

With the possible errors and mishandling that can result with a mailed check, I advise clients against paying taxes due using 1040-V and a check. I recommend either paying via debit with information provided with the return or using IRS Direct Pay. Checks are archaic and much more of a security risk.
