I have the quickbooks online payroll 8 elite subscribtion with my student account, it says I have no credits for the file return which should be free.

To get free ProConnect you have to sign up at https://www.intuit.com/partners/education-program/products/proconnect-tax-online/student-signup/

Students can't actually File.

I'm not sure what your Payroll comment has to do with Income Taxes. Are you trying to file a Payroll report? That would be better asked of the QB Community.
