Question

I have a client who used an expert accountant during divorce negotiations. Is this deductible? I cannot find anything on this.

IF the expert accountant billed specifically for tax advice that would impact the income of the client, THEN this could become a Schedule A miscellaneous deduction, right up there with the tax prep fee paid last year. This could then possibly be a state tax deduction, since the federal tax deduction went bye bye.
