Question

I cannot clear the critical diagnostic 54311 for Colorado. How do I clear this diagnostic? I have overriden the FTI per the instructions, to no avail.

Hopefully you have fixed this by now, but the process is to 'check' return and look at the diagnostic. Click on the diagnostic and it should take you to the exact input area to clear it.

entering the adjusted gross income still does not clear this diagnostic 54311 for Colorado.  How do I override this?  I have put the federal adjusted gross income manually in the field the diagnostic takes me to, but it does not clear.

I believe that there was a similar discussion on Lacerte for this same problem. The solution was to bypass the efile error and file anyway. I don't see that PCT does this. Contact support and see if you can just submit, even with the error.
