I am trying to roll back a NOL as part of the CARES Act. I have not checked the box to waive the carryback, however, it looks like the NOL is being carried forward.

I have not checked the box to waive the carryback. I filled out form 1045 and need to make sure the carryback takes place.

Is this a 2018 NOL or a 2019 NOL?

 

What makes it look like it is being carried forward?  If there is not a statement in the tax return to "Waive the Carryback", it automatically carries back.

 

Are you trying to claim the NOL on the 1045 on the return you are working on?  Or are you using the 1045 to calculate the NOL and are planning to amend the 2013 or 2014 tax return?
