Question

I am sending a paper 1040X for my client - original was sent e-file. I am thinking all parties, client and myself should sign the form (am I correct?)

is 8879 required for 1040X not being efiled?

No. 8879 is the efile authorization form. No efile = no form.

But why aren't you efiling it?

    But you don't need to sign as long as the software is printing your name in the preparer's signature box.

      Your client will need to hand sign the 1040X.
