How to split a divorced client record PTO

We have a couple that we have done taxes for for several years. They divorced in 2022 so each will be filing single for 2022.

We would want to create a new return from their 2021 return and strip out the ex-husband's info and attach that return to the new one we're trying to set up for the ex-wife so we don't have to rekey all the personal/dependent information and prior year numbers. When we try this, it attaches the ex-wife's 2022 return to the ex-husband's client account.

So I need to know if I can roll forward the 2021 joint return, strip out the ex-husband's information and attach the 2022 single return to the ex-wife's client account so I don't have to rekey everything from scratch.

Please advise.

Simple answer - NO

From https://proconnect.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/tax-filing-status/generate-married-filing-jointly-vs-married-filing/L7XyXkcNM_US_en_US?uid=lcxkunuw

There is currently no feature to split an MFJ return into two MFS returns in ProConnect Tax.

Can you change the 2021 return first, to an MFS for her, and then roll that one over?  (Assuming this doesn't incur pay-per-return fees.)
