How to report 1099 NEC for college student who claimed as dependent on their parents

I have college student who works at a small company got 1099 NEC instead of W2 wages.

the total is only about $3200? I entered on Sch, then they have to pay selfemployed tax.

Can you report as other income for that?

No.

A Form 1099 -NEC is for services performed, which generates self-employment taxes no matter what age one is.

Your question should really be whether that payment should have been on a W-2 instead.
