Question

How to mark a partnership or its income as "farm" or "non-farm" (Sch K)

I expected Schedule K, Line 14c to automatically populate with the Gross Income of this partnership because it is not a farm.  But, it is not populating.  I see where I can add a Schedule K adjustment, but it shouldn't need adjusted, it just needs to bring in what is already there.  Thank you!

Is there self-employment income or loss?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Yes, all four partners are active and managing, so all of the income is subject to SE Tax.

If it is farm income, I believe it should go on Schedule F.

If not it just goes on Income

No entries on Schedule F, that is why I expected Schedule K, Line 14c to automatically populate.  It seemed to work to simply type the number in the appropriate Schedule K [adjustment] field.  Just thought it was weird that we should have to manually enter a number that is already in the return - especially in an [adjustment] field.
