How do I split a federal (MFJ) return so that I can file a MFS state return? Lots of instructions for Pro Series but nothing for online?

Nothing on this because, unlike PS Professional, PTO does not have a function for splitting MFJ returns.  It has to be done manually and it's a very tedious process but it can be done with some patience.

See the second post in this thread for detailed instructions.  Before you "split" the return, make sure you check the MFJ/MFS comparison that you are happy with allocation and make any necessary adjustments.
