How do I send the tax return to my client to proof read it and sign it?

Can someone guide me on how I can send a tax return to a client to look it over and then to electronically sign the return? Do I electronically sign it after I get it back? How do I do that also? I would truly appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you

Yes, what you do is go to print it.... and change your printer to pdf.with displaying pdf... hit print and it will show up on your screen as a pdf.   Step 2 is go up to the file  selection ( upper left  corner and hit save... and save it to your desk top)   Step 3 Go to your email. and type in their address etc... and attach that pdf as an attachment.    This will send the entire tax return and signature sheet to them.  They can then print it and sign the form needed for you to efile... take a pic and send you a picture of it... ( later on they can drop the hard copy in the mail to you or give it to you in person when they pick up their return)

Hope this helps... practice it.. it works.

Thank you so much for your guidance. I truly appreciate it. It seems like there should be an easier way lol. So, we have to save to our desktop and then do you email it to your client through your personal email and not through the portal? Thank you again for your help and your time. I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

It is not recommended to send anything with PII through email, even with a password.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

You would have to purchase an e-signature (I think its 3.00). Once you do that you go to file return - on the left side of the page, you will see where you can send an e-signature. The taxpayer will be able to review the document before signing it. You will also be able to make any corrections if needed. You will not be able to sign the document only your client.

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your help. You do this all through the portal? Do we as the taxpayer not need to sign or date the return? Thank you again for your time 🙂
