How can i file NC state if I send the Federal tax return first?

Hi @acmilestone , when you file the Federal return ProConnect will lock the client file to protect it from being changed after e-file.  From inside the return, click the blue "Return Actions" button and then select "Unlock Return".  Then you will be able to check the box for North Carolina and e-file it on the file return screen.  ProConnect will automatically relock the return when North Carolina e-files.  If you need further assistance, please contact ProConnect Support .
