How can I clear the diagnostic warning for "entering a third-party designee, if different", hwhen I filled a joined return (self prepared) and the error/warnig appears on my spouse's entry screen?

I'm new to ProConnect and have imported my last year's tax return for testing. I got an error warning on regarding entering a third-party designee for my spouse. I chose my name as the preparer and self prepared but the error still does not go away, how do I proceed?

Thank you in advance.

I believe the default is preparer is 3rd party designee.

Go to General > Misc. Info./Direct Deposti > Miscellaneous > Designee/IRS Discussion > Allow discussion and enter 2 for a no

Since you are wearing two hats (Preparer and Taxpayer) you (Preparer) can not be a third party to either you (Taxpayer) or your spouse.

Take off Self Prepared and it might go away. You'll still be listed as the preparer but that might be what the hiccup is.

Thanks, I have removed that and it doubles the critical diagnostic error to two.
