Forgot to attach PDF to Tax Return

I filed a tax return and forgot to attach the Elections Statement  PDF to it. Is there a mechanism for filing additional schedules or supporting documents after the fact? Or do I need to Amend the return?

You can't go back in time unless you have your DeLorean parked out back.  You can amend, but the fine folks at the IRS will just end up ignoring the statement since no numbers will change on the amended return.
