Federal Standard Deduction and NY State Itemized Deduction

NY State allows for itemized deduction for State return even in cases taxpayer chose to use standard deduction for the federal purposes.  I tried to force itemized deduction on NY state itemized deduction screen but ProConnect still shows standard deduction in the return. Has anyone come across this issue and how resolved? Thanks

It should work correctly, even without a force. Are you certain that itemizing gives a larger number? Check Return and look at Forms > All and find Schedule A and see what it really totals.
