Due date to file f1120-S if business is closed mid year.

If a S corporation, CA based, winds up it's business mid year( for example June, 2023) what would be a tax return filing deadline for both Federal and state of CA?

1120S returns are due the 15th of the third month following the end of the entity's year.

    @IRonMaN Thanks. I read this while searching for this answer, "The deadline for filing your final tax return is the 15th day of the third month after the date of dissolution of the S corporation." Hence I had that question. Was wondering how to file the final tax return as the 2023 form would not be available and the due date to file the final tax return for a business dissolved in June 2023 would be September 15th 2023.

      You can prepare a paper copy of the return using the 2022 forms and cross off the 2022 dates and write in 2023.  Some folks will opt to extend the return and prepare it when the 2023 forms are released.
