Does anyone know if/how you can suppress the Form 8995 for the QBID? - Retiree had qualified dividends (sec 199A box5) but she's retired - no business income.

She's entitled to the QBI deduction. Think of it as a way of calculating a lower effective tax rate on REIT dividends.
