Hello,

If an employer does not have a market place identifier and secured the health insurance for employees through a third party, would the employ still be able to claim the credit for small employer health insurance premium? if yes, how would it be entered. I am following the direction in this link btw for proconnect tax online, however, I am stuck at the market place identifier number.

Does the insurance qualify?

For the most part, it must be from a Marketplace SHOP plan, which should presumably have a Marketplace Identifier.

But there are some exceptions to the the Marketplace SHOP requirement.

At any rate, if the taxpayer does qualify for the credit and there is NOT a Marketplace Identifier number, just leave it blank.

Thanks for the response, I believe the insurance does qualify. I would leave it blank and see if the credit flows through to the 1040 and SCH C.
