Question

Client has an adopted, special-needs child, with SSA benefits. Looking for guidance on how to report this in PTO.

If the kid is only receiving SS benefits, there most likely is nothing to report.

Thank you @IRonMaN - I am leaning that direction, as it is her "only source of income", but the language says "you probably will not have to file"...I don't like uncertainty, so I'm hoping to get a consensus from my peers. I appreciate you being first!

When in doubt, load the amount into a return.  When it shows up that none of the benefits are taxable you will have your consensus and then you can sleep tonight 😴
