Whenever I or my client tries to load the preliminary 1099 composite into link we are getting a failure to load error.  Is this because it's a preliminary and not final?  I am able to open it and view on my computer outside of Link

Hi @tfoti, it may be due to the size of the document.  However, this would be best troubleshooted on screenshare with our team.  Please contact ProConnect Support.

It was due to document size but unfortunately Link does not tell you that.  When I tried to load it from within the tax prep software, it then told me it was over 30MB which was weird because it was only 30 pages.  I asked AI about it and it said it could be that large due to high resolution scanning (from the client).  I was able to compress the pdf using an Adobe tool and that reduced the size so that I could load the document.    I wish Link would give the client the error message that the file is too big not just failure to load because then some of them would know what to do with it.

Hi @tfoti, Intuit Link is not the limitation it is on ProConnect's side actually, which is why you didn't get the error until you tried to open the document.  Even at 30 pages, depending on the file data, it could be over the 30MB limit.  Best advice is to split those documents as you will have to split it to use the import feature as ProConnect does not import consolidated statements.
