married couples return sent in separately

How do I detach or uncouple a Married couples return because the husband sent in his return separately?

you do not want to uncouple the returns if they are married. just send in the one return and put the spouse's net income in to calculate the credits properly. hope this helps. have a great season.

I agree with James: to properly calculate credits and deductions both coupled spouses return information is required. If the returns are not coupled, schedule 2 must be completed with the spouse information. If you complete a return for the spouse, client status can be changed to not filing in properties.
