client did inform me of their marital and their immigration status

So a client left there documents but did not let me know that they immigrated to Canada last yr Aug. Its thier first time filing how can I update the info with CRA

By last year August, do you mean in the 2022 year, or the 2021 year?  If the 2022 year, you will need to amend the T1 you filed, adding a date of immigration, etc.  If it was the 2021 year, your 2022 tax return should be OK, but they should have filed a 2021 tax return showing the immigration date and reporting income from date of immigration to December 31st.
