Claiming Election 45(2)
When claiming 45(2) or 45(3) Election regarding Principal Residence, can you Efile tax return and mail the letter or tax return needs to be paperfiled.

With TaxPrep, we e-filed the tax return, mailed in the election with a cover letter, and there was a field to mark on the EFILE data screen to indicate that an election was separately mailed. In Profile, I cannot locate a similar field, but I would do it the same way - e-file and mail the election in separately.
