Will former customers of TD Ameritrade who were transferred to Charles Schwab & Co receive a separate tax statement or will it be combined with the Schwab tax statement?

    That happened in 2023

    Will I receive multiple tax documents?

    Yes, you will receive two 1099s for the 2023 tax year. TD Ameritrade will send a 1099 for the period of January 1, 2023 to September 1, 2023. Schwab will send a 1099 for the period of September 2, 2023 to December 31, 2023. We recommend you notify your accountant that there will be multiple 1099s as a result of the merger.

      I had a couple clients who said they weren't merged over until 2024 - maybe different types of accounts? But yes, there will be two 1099s for anyone who was switched over in a given calendar year.
