Vermont form IN-113, line 31a, is incorrectly showing non-Vermont municipal income.  Is there a programing issue? The 2020 tax program handled this issue correctly but the 2021 version is not.

This sounds like operator error. Look at your input last year and then at this year. In the Interest screen the input is only for In-state Municipal Bonds - the preparer needs to differentiate before input.

If it is a part year resident, it would take special handling in the split.

Thanks for your response.  However, the "In state municipal bonds" input section is empty on both the 2020 & 2021 screens as it should be but the software for 2021 is not treating it as "non-In-State" as it should, as it did on the 2020 return.  I think there is a programming issue here.

And if it was in-fact "in-state" then form IN-112 would not treat it as an addition to federal AGI on line 1 & 2 of part 1.

It can't be both ways, an addition to fed. AGI and a subtraction to compute Vermont % on form IN-113, part 2.

This did not happen in the  2020 tax software.  How do I get this issue in front of Lacerte programmers?

Ctrl + L will open a communications with Lacerte. You can actually attach a return with your detailed explanation.
