Question

Why is the Federal ES worksheet still not final

I called Lacerte support to find out when the Federal ES worksheets would be final and they couldn't provide an estimated final date.

Has anyone else had better luck finding out when this worksheet will be final?

this seems to be taking longer than it has in prior years...

thanks!

BEWARE!!!!   The 1040 ES worksheet is NOT calculating correctly.  It is doubling line 2C but the doubled number does not show up on line 2C.  The doubled number is NOT correct.  It is also not giving the correct amounts on the estimated forms if 100% of 2026 is selected.  I have tried to force the number to see what changes.  NOTHING CHANGES.  USELESS WORKSHEET!!!!!!!

It also isn't handling the $ 6k 'senior' deduction correctly.

OR, if you adjust Sch C income downward for 2026, it doesn't reduce the QBI deduction for 2026.

I resorted to copying the file to a different client number, massaging that file as needed, then overriding the 2026 estimates.  A LOT of extra work.

BEWARE!!!  The Missouri 1040 ES worksheet is subtracting LT capital gain from next year's calculation even tho it isn't included in the current year calculation.

The way things have been going with Lacerte this year, I have to ask a question.  Did they drop the Lacerte pricing below Drake for the 2025 tax package?

Looking into Drake's pricing might be a good idea for next year at this point.  Lacerte is an absolute JOKE this year!!  They get worse and worse EVERY YEAR.
