Why am i getting diagnostic errors re: form 8888 when savings bond purchases were not requested for amended 1040?

the amended 1040 requests that IRS apply refund to the following year 2022.

Were I-Bonds requested on the original return?  If so, remove all mention of that from Screen 3.  Then make sure the 1040-X shows the I-Bond purchase in the original refund received.  Adjust on the amended screen if necessary.
