What's the deal with the 2026 Federal ES Tax worksheet?

The 2026 Federal ES worksheet has an arithmetic error.

Line 2 is $12,000 but LC thinks it is $24,000

As a result, taxable income for 2026 is understated.

There is a diagnostic that says the ES worksheets are final but the instructions are still in draft form. I'm betting that's their excuse.

thank you.

The policy should be that the worksheets actually work.

Just called Lacerte.  They do not have an open case on the 1040ES worksheet calculating incorrectly.  Please call and let them know.  Posting on here does not let them know.

There are so many things wrong with this worksheet.  Line 2C is doubled but does not show as doubled.  If you subtract the amounts on the worksheet it does not equal taxable income.  If you change some of the items on the worksheet, it does not change the calculation.  If you choose the option to have the estimates be 100% of 2026 tax, it does NOT do this.  I ended up calculating my own tax number and overriding what Lacerte is showing.  The worksheet is useless at this point.  It took me awhile to figure out why estimates for 2026 were so much less than 2025.  I have wasted so much time doing something that I PAY for when I purchased this software.  I have used this software since the 90s.  It just keeps getting worse.
