What does the "1099 taxes" checkbox do/mean for Lacerte Screen 12 Div FTC?

On Screen 12, down in the FTC section, there's a checkbox "1099 taxes." The only impact I can see it that on Form 1116, Part II, it puts "1099 TAXES" in column (l) for date paid/accrued.

I'm curious, are there more impacts/effects of checking this box that I'm not seeing?

Is there a situation where it definitively should or shouldn't be checked? Aren't all FTC entries on Screen 12 related to the 1099? i.e., if it's a "why wouldn't we check this," why is this even an option?

I tried pressing F1 on the checkbox and searching Knowledge Base articles, but I was coming up empty.

It just checks the box.

I use the Div input screen (one line entry per country!) for the clients who get an inordinate amount of foreign tax credit from partnerships, where I'd like Lacerte to calculate the qualified dividend adjustment. It means fewer non-obvious entries to make, and more stuff that updates automatically if there's a change.
