What are people doing with CP80 notices

Some of my clients have received CP80 notices about the IRS not having a copy of their return. Lacerte software states "e-file complete" under the e-file status which is different than "accepted". What is happening with these returns?  Thank you

"What is happening with these returns?"

Are you signed up for governmental e-newsletters? The IRS puts out notices that will go to your email. This one was recently covered.

But they also mention:

"Due to processing delays for 2019 and 2020 tax returns, the issuance of CP80 and CP080 (Unfiled Tax Return – Credit on Account) notices has been suspended. If you received a notice for your 2019 return and you filed timely, please refile the return. If you received a notice for your 2020 return DO NOT refile."

Did you verify it is for the tax return and not a payroll return notice?  Asking that because that was the issue for a client yesterday.

For what it's worth, may I present to you the link to a similar situation....

Or, if you don't click links in a public forum, search "Thousand hands of the IRS" in this community.

I filed the CP259 after CP258.  But then, as Shakespeare would say: CP80 is CP259 not.  Hope it helps.

I come here for kudos and IRonMaN's jokes.
