Uploading 2022 filed Return in PDF format into 2022 Lacerte or must be manually entered?

I have new 2023 client. Can I upload their pdf 2022 return into 2022 Lacerte and roll froward? Or is manual entry only option. Thanks!

    Manual entry only or import from another preparer. No pdf reader to ease your pain. 

    Look at this way, you can get used to the software this way. If you are on REP, use all 9s for the SSN or FEIN and there is no charge for the REP. Next year, or if you are going to amend, then put in the real ID and pay the REP at that time.
